Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes make their debut on the digital cover of Metro.Style, revealing the personal resonance of their 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Rewind.”
The power couple shared why this film marked their return after 13 years, expressing how its synopsis sent chills down their spines upon the initial read.
“It was narrated to us, then we read the brief. We looked at each other and said, ‘Wow.’ We didn’t verbally say ‘yes’ right then, but in that exchange, there was an automatic understanding that this project held something special. It had a goosebumps level,” Dingdong shared in an interview with Metro.
“Rewind” narrates the story of John (played by Dingdong), Mary (portrayed by Marian), and their son Austin (acted by Jordan Lim). John grapples with balancing his personal and professional life, while Mary confronts a tragic accident. Plunging into despair, John encounters Lods (played by Pepe Herrera), offering him a chance to rewind his past and alter choices but at a substantial cost.
Through the movie, Marian gained insights into life’s fragility, realizing how every moment is fleeting yet potentially transformative.
“Honestly, while working on this, I realized and learned so much. We often assume life isn’t brief given our age and what’s happening, but it truly is. If that’s on your mind, you’ll strive to become a better version for everyone, especially for yourself,” she shared.
Beyond their cover feature, Marian and Dingdong engaged in a two-part interview on Metro Talks, shared their perspectives on various industry trends in Metro Takes 5, and indulged in a playful game of Jenga.
