Thailand Week 2023 is back and better than ever, ready to captivate the hearts of Filipinos once again. This highly anticipated cultural and trade show, organized by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) through the Thai Trade Center in Manila, will take place from March 30 to April 2, 2023, at the SMX Convention Center, Hall 4.
Featuring around 80 exhibitors from Thailand and the Philippines, Thailand Week 2023 will showcase a diverse range of high-quality Thai products, including food and beverage, health and beauty products, household items, fashion and lifestyle products, gems and jewelry, and much more.
This event aims to promote Thai products to potential customers and increase their competitiveness in the Philippine market. It aligns with the policy of Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, to expand the global market for Thai products and showcase their potential to a wider audience.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the event at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City was held on March 30, with VIPs in attendance. Among those present were Ms. Micah Sales Holdings, Ms. Rosemarie Ong (President of the Philippine Retail Association), Mr. Eusebio Tanco (Chairman of the Philippine-Thailand Business Council), H.E. Thailand Week, a beloved event that brings together high-quality products and cultural experiences, has been embraced by Filipinos and foreigners living in the Philippines for over a decade. The event offers visitors the chance to purchase top-quality products at affordable prices from a wide range of exhibitors, while also immersing themselves in Thai culture. One of the most anticipated highlights is the cooking demonstrations of Thai dishes by the best Thai chefs in the Philippines. Visitors can enjoy the food and hospitality, and experience Thai culture first-hand.
In addition to offering a unique cultural experience, Thailand Week also presents endless opportunities for Filipino businessmen to explore marketable and competitive products from Thailand. Thai exhibitors, meanwhile, can use the trade fair to conduct market analysis and source local importers, distributors, and wholesalers. The event serves as a platform for strengthening bilateral trade and business relationships between Thailand and the Philippines, which can lead to mutual prosperity and strategic partnerships in the future. It is a testament to the strong trade relationships between the two countries, with the total trade between Thailand and the Philippines reaching $11.22 billion in 2022, and the Philippines ranking as the 14th largest trading partner of Thailand.
“This is the first time we are holding the Thailand Week exhibition on-site after experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic for three years,” said Ms. Janthana Chotimunee, Director of the Thai Trade Center Manila, the main organizer of the event. “This year’s Thailand Week 2023 will feature eighty (80) Thai and Philippine companies showcasing high-quality and new products at reasonable prices. We also offer an even greater business platform where our Thai exporters and Philippine importers can engage and interact with each other effectively through our business matching activity.”
