Electric vehicles now comprise 35% of its entire pickup and delivery fleet
DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has expanded its last-mile pickup and delivery fleet with the addition of 22 new electric vans (EVs). This brings the company’s total EV count to nearly 70, now making up 35% of its entire fleet—a significant increase from 24% last year. The move underscores DHL Express’ commitment to sustainability, aligning with its “Green Logistics of Choice” strategy as part of Strategy 2030.

The continued electrification of DHL Express’ fleet supports its broader sustainability initiatives, which focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and optimized transportation routes.
“The expansion of electric vehicles into the DHL Express fleet plays a crucial role in minimizing the environmental impact of our operations. As part of our commitment to green logistics, we recognize the urgency of climate change and continue to adapt our services and processes accordingly,” said Nigel Lockett, Country Manager of DHL Express Philippines.

DHL Express first introduced EVs to its Philippine fleet in December 2021, in line with DHL Group’s global target of electrifying 60% of its pickup and delivery fleet by 2030.
As part of Strategy 2030 – Accelerate Sustainable Growth, DHL Group is working toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Beyond its EV expansion, the company launched GoGreen Plus in 2023, allowing customers to reduce the emissions of their international air cargo through sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This initiative is powered by strategic partnerships with bp, Neste, and World Energy, further reinforcing DHL Express’ leadership in sustainable logistics.
