AirAsia Philippines recently hosted the 7th Redstar Awards for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, aiming to honor and celebrate the remarkable contributions of its Travel Agency Partners.
During the event, AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla reflected on the pivotal role played by Online Travel Agents, Travel and Service Centers, and Travel Agency Partners as the airline navigated through the challenges of the pandemic.
“AirAsia Philippines owes its success to you, our travel agency partners, for sustaining the travel and tourism industry during these trying times. Our triumphs are a testament to the trust and belief people have in AirAsia’s commitment to providing exceptional service and travel experiences to our guests,” Mr. Isla expressed.
Marigel Tankiang Manotok, President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), extended gratitude to AirAsia for the recognition and pledged continued support from its members to the airline. “Cheers to AirAsia Philippines, a true advocate of affordable travel! May your reach continue to expand, bringing vibrancy to the Philippine travel industry,” she shared.
With over 1,000 AirAsia Travel Agency Partners nationwide, Mr. Isla emphasized the significant role played by each partner, regardless of size, in contributing to AirAsia’s success. Last year, sales from Travel Agency Partners accounted for nearly half of AirAsia’s flight and ancillary revenues.
“By May 2024, AirAsia was serving a total of 12 domestic and 13 international destinations. Thanks to your contributions, AirAsia Philippines remains a leading airline for leisure destinations such as Thailand, Boracay, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Panglao, and Cebu,” he added.
Looking ahead, AirAsia plans to kick off the second half of 2024 by reopening its Clark Hub, with new domestic and international flights. Mr. Isla expressed confidence in the unwavering support of its partners in promoting Clark as a key hub in the country.
