The Great Northern Sale at SM City North EDSA was packed with people even on just the first day. I asked one of the SM Department Store supervisors on how was the crowd earlier in the morning. She said that their check out counter had long queues. She mentioned that it was tradition for SM Advantage card holders to get 10% off on top of the discounts during the first 2 hours of the first day of the sale.  That’s something I should avail next sale..

I got the Gourmet Card.  You can get the Gourmet Card in the Atrium Area, The Block just in front of the big shopping bag board.

After covering the fashion show, I decided to use the Gourmet Card.  I looked at the Gourmet Card booklet to see what are the restaurants that are participating and what type of discounts or freebies they offer.

I decided to go for , a restaurant offering Singaporean dishes.  My blogger friend Azrael was recommending it.

The freebie according to the booklet Hainanese Delights is tofu or radish cake for every purchase of Ph 150 pesos as per the poster as well.

I order the dish Hainanese Delights with steamed chicken plus a Coke Zero which cost me Ph 150 which was a good deal for a quarter chicken with unlimited rice with a drink.

When I wanted to claim my free tofu or radish cake, they told me that the offer was only valid 2-5 p.m. as also mentioned in the poster but unfortunately was not mentioned in the booklet.  It was already past 8pm so I was no longer entitled to it.  Anyways, I just had something like 6 servings of rice to compensate my ordeal.  (the 6 servings are actually only like 3 cups).

Other deals mentioned in the Gourmet card that I think looks good are:

• Burgoo: Free buffalo wings on any food purchase
• 4 Fingers: 2-5 pm only, buy 12 pcs and get free 6 pcs
• Barrio Fiesta: For every Ph 1,000 purchase, free one order of pancit canton
• Wendy’s: 10% discount

Just please check with the restaurant about their offers to confirm.  Just in case 🙂
