Describing the moment as surreal, D’ total performer Darren Espanto expressed his awe as he inked an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN during the event “Keep Shining: The Darren Espanto Network Contract Signing.”
“I could never have imagined this because, of course, as a child, this was just a dream for me. I used to see artists signing contracts, and now I’m one of those artists. It’s very surreal to me,” said the homegrown Kapamilya vocalist.
During the contract signing event, Darren extended his gratitude to ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN head of TV production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, and Star Magic handler Edith Farinas, all of whom were present.
“Thank you so much for your trust throughout all these years. It means a lot to me that you trusted me with these projects,” Darren expressed his appreciation.
When asked about the advice he would give to his younger self, the budding star stressed the significance of persevering relentlessly to achieve his dreams.
“Be prepared for this rollercoaster ride of a journey. It’s not always going to be smooth sailing; there will be challenges to overcome. But of course, this is our dream, so you just have to fight through it, never give up,” he shared.
Following his impressive run as first runner-up on “The Voice Kids” season 1, Darren has evolved into one of the most sought-after vocalists of his generation. His studio albums “Darren” and “Be With Me” both achieved platinum status. He boasts a collection of hit tracks, including “In Love Ako Sayo,” “7 Minutes,” and “Stuck.”
Beyond his musical prowess, the “ASAP Natin ‘To” mainstay has ventured into acting, securing lead roles in the blockbuster film “The Hows of Us” and the iWantTFC original series “Lyric and Beat.” He also contributed as one of the judges for “Tawag ng Tanghalan” season 6.
