Since I was a kid, that’s decades ago since I’m 51, Alaska by Alaska Milk Corporation’s (AMC) was already a household name. I remember the phrase from the commercial jingles “Walang tatalo sa Alaska”. For forty years, the company has been a trusted in providing everyday affordable nutrition to Filipinos nationwide.
Recently, Alaska Milk Corporation partnered with Royal FrieslandCampina, the Dutch dairy
company that has been supplying mothers all over the world with high quality dairy nutrition for more than 130 years. Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, AMC president and chief executive, reiterates AMC’s long-standing mission: “Together with FrieslandCampina, AMC continues to offer essential nutrients from milk at any stage of the people’s lives. Mothers can now benefit more from the combined power of our expertise.’’
FrieslandCampina is fully owned by a cooperative of 19,244 member dairy farmers from The Netherlands. The company is committed to high standards throughout the entire production chain – ‘from grass to glass’. Aside from the Philippines, FrieslandCampina supplies dairy-based
beverages, cheese and desserts to Europe, Africa and to key Asian countries. They also supply raw materials to manufacturers of infant nutrition, the food industry and the pharmaceutical sector around the world.
The partnership between Alaska Milk Corporation and Royal FrieslandCampina (RFC) was formally launched at the Solaire Resort and Casino Grand Ballroom last April 8, 2014. Present were Tiffany Anne Santuyo, Registered nutritionist/Dietitian/Nutrition Consultant of Alaska Milk Corporation and from the FreislandCampina Dairy Foods, Dr. Henkjan Verkade, Prof. of Pedriatics University of Groningen, University Medical Center, Groningen, The Netherlands/Consultant, and Dr. Anne Schaafsma, Senior Scientist Nutrition, Global Nutrition Development team of FreislandCampina Innovations International.
During the launch of their partnership, the theme was “Friso Four Shares Journey of Growing Up.”

Royal FrieslandCampina’s milk production begins with liquid raw materials, as fresh as possible, which go directly into processing. This technique allows the final product to be subjected to less heat treatment, thereby preserving more of the native state of proteins. This leads to less protein denaturation and glycation. Low levels of glycation mean less digestive issues for babies making it an ideal for infant nutrition.
