Coverage (photos and videos) of Xyza Cruz Bacani Homecoming Party by Fujifilm Philippines

Last July 12, Fujifilm Philippines welcomed one of its most admired X-Photographers back home. It hosted a homecoming party for Hongkong based street photographer Ms. Xyza Cruz Bacani.

At 27 years old, she came into to the limelight when her photos were noticed and published by The New York Times and Vogue Italia.  Working as a domestic helper in Hongkong, Xyza took photography as a hobby and stress reliever after her working hours and days off.

At the homecoming party, she gave a talk on how she sees the streets through her lens.  Attended by approximately a hundred photography enthusiast at the Reliks Tapas Bar at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The members of the X-Photographer Philippines along with the media and invited camera clubs and VIPs, warmly welcomed her.

During her talk, she discussed her vision, processes in taking street photography photos to a very attentive audience.

After her talk, she was officially welcomed by Fujifilm Philippines giving her a X jacket that she proudly and gladly wore as a token for her being a X-Photographer (meaning being part of the group of Fujifilm users).

A Question and Answer portion for the audience to ask Xyza questions followed.  Interesting questions were asked and answered by Xyza.

I look through the Daan street photography archives and found the photo Xyza was talking about in the Q&A about the photo of a beggar. Coincidentally, it was posted July 13, 2012, exactly 2 years ago!

Snacks was served and the media interviewed her. I have seen the TV crews of ABS-CBN, TV 5 and GMA in addition to various traditional media outfits.

After the media interview, photographers and guests grabbed the opportunity to have photos, selfies, autographs from Xyza (including me!)
