Best-selling author and restaurateur Chef Tatung Sarthou have launched his latest offering under ABS-CBN Books titled “Simpol: The Cookbook,” which features 101 contemporary recipes inspired by Filipino classics and other popular dishes.
“The goal of ‘Simpol’ is to teach Filipino families how to prepare easy yet delicious and nutritious recipes,” said Chef Tatung.
Named after his popular online cooking show “Simpol,” the book highlights recipes that can be pulled off both by newbie and seasoned cooks using basic ingredients and easy directions. They are also made extra special with “tweaks and twists made to suit modern Philippine kitchens and taste.”
Aside from its featured meat, vegetable, seafood, and rice and noodle recipes, “Simpol: The Cookbook” also simplifies cooking techniques and shares valuable tips to properly guide cooks in executing the steps from point A to point B effortlessly.
“What we did in ‘Simpol’ was make cooking as simple as ABC. We made mini recipes within our recipes so for someone who’s not familiar with cooking, it’ll be very easy for you to follow by dividing what you’re cooking into parts,” Chef Tatung explained.
The recipe book is likewise made more helpful with its added QR code feature, which allows anyone with a phone camera and an internet connection to simply access cooking videos of the recipe online.
Following the success of his award-winning book “Philippine Cookery: From Heart to Platter,” Chef Tatung’s “Simpol” has been chosen to represent the country in the 2021 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards for the categories celebrity chef and easy recipes.
