Pokémon Sleep
Pokémon GO made entertainment out of walking around, now, Pokémon will do the same for sleeping!
When Pokémon GO was released in 2016, it brought fresh entertainment to the simple everyday activity of walking, leading people the world over to discover a new way to have fun.
Now comes the next challenge for Pokémon games: bringing fresh entertainment to sleeping!
The core gameplay of Pokémon Sleep is simple: you place your smartphone by your pillow, then go to sleep. Just like that, waking up in the morning becomes something to look forward to!
Keep it up day by day and rest your very best!
Collect Lots of Pokémon’s “Sleep Styles” Together with Snorlax in Pokémon Sleep
Your adventure takes place on a small island somewhere in the world.
Together with large Snorlax who live on the island and Neroli, a professor studying Pokémon’s sleep styles, you’ll carry out research into how Pokémon sleep.
By placing your smartphone by your pillow when you go to bed, you’ll be able to record and measure your sleep. Depending on your score, the content of the game will change.
Your nights of sleep will be classified as one of three “sleep types,” and in the morning, Pokémon that sleep in similar ways will come gather around Snorlax.
You may even discover a Pokémon sleeping in a rare style you’d hardly ever get to see normally. Each Pokémon has a number of different sleep styles, so discover lots of them by getting a good night’s sleep.
Pokémon Sleep is Slated to Launch Worldwide in Summer 2023!
Pokémon Sleep is planned to launch worldwide, excluding certain regions, in summer 2023. You can play it using just your smartphone or enjoy an even handier way to play using the Pokémon GO Plus + device, scheduled to launch on July 14.
The app will be released very soon, so please bear with us a little longer.
Pokémon GO Plus +
What is Pokémon GO Plus +?
Pokémon GO Plus + is a new device that uses Bluetooth® Low Energy technology to link with smartphone apps for use in gameplay.
Its standout feature is its sleep tracking functionality. The device was developed alongside the new Pokémon Sleep app under the slogan “Keep track of your sleep with the press of a button!” Our aim was to create a device that allows anyone to easily track their sleep and have fun doing so.
Pokémon GO Plus + can pair with Pokémon GO, just like Pokémon GO Plus (released in 2016) and Poké Ball Plus (released in 2018). It will give you an even handier way to play your Pokémon GO game—you’ll be able to search for Pokémon without checking your smartphone and enjoy adventuring at your own pace with even more flexible gameplay.
Sleep tracking functions get a big plus
Sleep tracking is amazingly easy with Pokémon GO Plus +. All you need to do is press and hold the central button, then place the device by your pillow and go to sleep. No need for any complex steps.
Even those who’d rather leave their smartphones outside their bedrooms can easily track their sleep with this device.
Your sleep data can be used in both Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon GO. Pokémon Sleep is a new app (currently in development) that aims to make waking up in the morning something to look forward to! New gameplay features that make use of sleep data are slated for development in Pokémon GO as well. You’ll be able to link with these apps to check out your daily sleep data.
Perhaps some of you feel that day-to-day sleep tracking is a boring, rote activity. Well, Pokémon GO Plus + is here to help out on that front in a way that only Pokémon can! Pikachu’s familiar voice will give you cute prompts when it’s time to wake up or go to sleep. The device also has a function for singing lullabies.
A powered-up link with Pokémon GO
The previously launched Pokémon GO Plus and Poké Ball Plus devices enjoyed great popularity for making Pokémon GO hugely more convenient to play. Users of these devices could play Pokémon GO without needing to check their smartphones—a gameplay experience that nicely suited the outdoor nature of Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Plus + retains its predecessors’ functions, while also adding new features that players of Pokémon GO will find even more appealing! Up until now, Poké Balls were the only ball that players could throw at nearby Pokémon with just one button press. With the upcoming Pokémon GO Plus +, however, players will be able to choose which ball they wish to throw in their Pokémon GO game. Great Balls and Ultra Balls will also be throwable! Catching Pokémon will be easier than ever.
Moreover, if you have Poké Balls selected, a new feature will let them be thrown automatically when a Pokémon is nearby, with no need to press a button. The automatic PokéStop spinning function introduced in the Poké Ball Plus device also carries over into Pokémon GO Plus +, allowing for even more button-free gameplay in Pokémon GO.
No doubt about it—there are even more fun ways to play than ever before!
