MANILA, Philippines – In a grand celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) is set to elevate the excitement of its prestigious pageant with dazzling new crowns and increased cash prizes for the winners of the 2024 competition. The announcement was made during a glamorous press presentation last June 7, where the organization also highlighted its commitment to charitable causes.
A Sparkling New Era: The Crowns
This year, contestants will vie for the titles of Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 and Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024, each adorned with stunning new crowns. Designed by acclaimed jeweler Manny Halasan, the crowns are inspired by the Binibining Pilipinas logo, elegantly incorporating three stars and a sun, symbolizing the country’s flag and heritage. The intricate designs reflect both the rich cultural heritage and the radiant future of the pageant.
Enhanced Rewards
The stakes have never been higher, with each of the two titleholders set to receive an impressive P1 million in cash. Additionally, the first and second runners-up will each be awarded P400,000. These enhanced prizes underscore BPCI’s dedication to recognizing and supporting the remarkable women who grace the stage.
Commitment to Charity
Continuing its tradition of philanthropy, BPCI will donate P1 million to World Vision Philippines, emphasizing its enduring commitment to charitable endeavors. This contribution highlights the organization’s broader mission of empowering communities and supporting various causes beyond the glitz and glamour of the pageant.
The Contestants and Upcoming Events
The 40 contestants made a striking impression at the press event, donning identical black maillot swimsuits with plunging necklines, complemented by gold accessories and nude stilettos. The reigning queens, Angelica Lopez and Anna Valencia Lakrini, will soon pass their crowns to their successors. Lopez, who is set to compete in the 62nd Miss International pageant in Japan this November, will hand over her title to the new Binibining Pilipinas International, who will represent the Philippines in the global competition next year. Lakrini, the Miss Globe second runner-up, will also crown her successor for the international pageant later this year.
Anticipation is building for the national costume competition on June 11 at the New Frontier Theater, a much-awaited event where the candidates will showcase their creativity and cultural pride.
The Grand Coronation Night
The journey will culminate in the Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night on July 7 at the iconic Smart Araneta Coliseum in Araneta City. The event promises a night of elegance and entertainment, hosted by the dynamic duo of Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach, alongside fellow Binibinis Nicole Cordoves and MJ Lastimosa.
As BPCI marks its 60th year, the 2024 pageant not only celebrates the beauty and talent of Filipinas but also underscores the enduring legacy and evolving future of the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. With new crowns, bigger prizes, and a continued commitment to charity, this year’s competition is poised to be a landmark event in the history of Philippine pageantry.
