Where is the best place to stay in Baguio? I would recommend Casa Vallejo for the following reasons. Here are the reasons why.
1. Conveniently Located in the Heart of Baguio
Case Vallejo is conveniently located at Upper Session Road in the heart of downtown Baguio. You can walk to SM Baguio, Session Road, various Bus Terminals, and attractions. Since it is near Session road and SM Baguio, there are lots of restaurants, shops, convenience stores, pharmacies, and ATMs. Taxis are easy to get since it’s on the main road so moving around Baguio is very easy.

2. It has History and Character but with Modern Amenities
Despite the hotel’s rich history being a hundred years old, they have kept up with the times. While the original exterior has been preserved, they renovated throughout the years the structure and interiors.
Guests will have the best of both worlds: the charming ambiance and character of Casa Vallejo without missing out on the comfort of modern facilities like hot and cold shower & faucet, bidet, fan, air conditioning, TV and cable channels, in-room safe, room fridge, ironing board, water kettle, and even an instant expresso machine!
3. Clean and Airy
Despite being “old”, the hotel is very clean and pleasant. The rooms and the exteriors are well-maintained and smell fresh.
The toilets are very clean and well-kept. Bed linens are towels are tidy and smell fresh. Toiletries are also in refillable containers so it’s environmentally friendly.
4. Best Breakfast in Town
With your stay comes a free breakfast at the HIllstation, one of the best and most famous restaurants in Baguio.
The ambiance and the quality + presentation of the food are very good.
Here is the menu and some photos of the breakfast we had during our stay.
5. It has one of the Best Restaurants in Baguio
Aside from having breakfast at the Hillstation, I highly recommend you have dinner or lunch at the restaurant. Hillstation is one of the best reasons to stay in Casa Vallejo. It is one of the best restaurants in Baguio not only for its ambiance and character but also for the quality and the selection of the menu. It is a Miele Guide awardee as one of the best restaurants in Asia.
Hill Station offers fusion food that blends the spicy flavors of Asia’s mountain towns with the taste of Old World Europe and New World America. I was really impressed with their menu which includes Tagine from Morroco, and Mutton Berbere from Etophia, in addition to western favorites like Shepherd’s Pie, and Paella!
6. Great Service: Staff are Friendly and Helpful
The friendliness and professionalism of the staff can be felt from checking in to checking out. Always courteous and smiling with their greetings. They were also very accommodating and helpful. We requested an additional desk in our family room and provided it free of charge with 2 chairs.
7. Price
Staying at Casa Vallejo is not only accessible but also affordable. For the quality of the room and amenities, it’s value for money. You will save a lot also in transportation costs since it is in the center of Baguio close to shops, dining areas and nearby attractions.

REVIEW
Casa Vallejo is definitely on top of my list of where to stay in the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio, for the 8 reasons stated above. Being a boutique hotel sets it apart from your typical hotels in terms of exclusivity, privacy, intimacy, and a bit of luxuriousness.
Even a century old with a Historical Marker that has been awarded to the hotel by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, you will still not lose the comfort of a modern hotel.
Best of all, it’s in the center of downtown Baguio where you have access to so many dining, shopping, and other facilities. Commuting is also easy with the abundance of transport options nearby.
I highly recommend Casa Vallejo to be your home in the summer capital!
