Calista, a six-member all-female group, received K-Pop dance training for their upcoming single titled ‘Don’t Have Time.’
Being trained for 8 hours a day, six days a week with the great Filipino choreographer, Vimi Rivera, Tyronne reveals that they want to add some international touch to their moves with the help of two Korean choreographers.
Before the management team become criticised for hiring Korean choreographers, Tyronne clarified that they believe and are impressed by Filipino choreographers.
Starting from August 15 to 21, the girl group participated in a week-long intensive dance training program directed by renowned Korean artists and choreographers Park Ji Yeon and Lee Eun Kyung.
Lee Eun Kyung, also known as Ms. A. Dan, is the President of Echo Entertainment in Korea. She has taught choreography to many groups, including 2NE1, and has also worked as a concert choreographer for some well-known artists, including Na Hoon Ah and Ji Chang Wook.
Park Ji Yeon is the ERICA team leader and the dance director of Pearl Star Dance Team. She was also the main dancer for the concert of Korean singer Lim Young-woong, as well as the concert choreographer for Yeon-ja Seojin Park and Ji Chang Wook.
The Korean coaches claim that Korean style has this cute and sexy touch in it, whereas Filipino style is known for being strong and charismatic. That is why they want to show the world the new side of CALISTA that is yet to be seen.
Calista’s dance training also included choreography practice for their new single ‘Don’t Have Time,’ which was written by Tera, a rising Filipino artist, and musically-arranged by renowned record producer Marcus Davis, who also wrote ‘Race Car.’
The pocket presscon event ended with good remarks between the two Korean dance experts that praises Calista for being fast learners and Calista thanking their coaches for having patience in teaching them, even with the communication barriers that they have during the training.
