“Boy Kills World” Now Streaming on Lionsgate Play

In this action-packed dystopian tale, Bill Skarsgard plays a deaf-mute orphan, ready to carve a path of carnage in his relentless quest for vengeance.

What do you do when your entire family is wiped out by a power-hungry dynasty? If you’re Boy, you turn your grief and rage into a weapon. Guided by a shadowy shaman, Boy hones his skills, transforms into a lethal force, and embarks on a mission of vengeance. Played masterfully by Bill Skarsgård (It, The Crow), this deaf and mute protagonist navigates a dystopian world in search of his family’s killer: the cunning and unhinged Hilda Van Der Koy, portrayed by Famke Janssen (X-Men).

This post-apocalyptic action saga takes audiences on a brutal, thrilling ride as Boy tears through waves of adversaries. Along the way, he encounters a resistance crew, martial arts tyrants, and the haunting memory of his rebellious sister. With jaw-dropping action, dark humor, and a chaotic dystopian setting, Boy Kills World delivers an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Bill Skarsgård on Preparing for Boy

For Skarsgård, the role of Boy was as much physical as it was emotional. “I like to think of myself as a physical actor,” he shared. “This role was a massive challenge because of all the action sequences. It was like learning a new language. I trained for six weeks, transforming my body for the part and mastering the fight choreography—not just the moves but the character’s physicality and how he moves.”

The Director’s Take on Casting Skarsgård

Director Moritz Mohr was captivated by Skarsgård’s potential from the start. “Bill is incredibly expressive, and that alone was a huge selling point for Boy. He’s a very physical actor, but action roles aren’t what come to mind for him,” Mohr told GamesRadar. “On our first call, I asked if he was ready for the physical demands, and he immediately said, ‘Absolutely. I’m a big MMA and UFC fan. I want to train and do this the right way.’ That convinced me he was the perfect choice.”

Why Boy Kills World Stands Out

Combining visceral fight scenes, a compelling lead performance, and a unique dystopian world, Boy Kills World redefines the action genre. With Skarsgård’s dedication to his role and Mohr’s vision, this film promises a gripping, adrenaline-fueled experience that’s impossible to forget.

Don’t miss Boy Kills World when it drops on Lionsgate Play this December 27.
