Reimagining the concept album, Blxst constructs a cinematic world centered around a character named Birdie, who inherits his late father’s chauffeur car service. As Birdie embarks on his journey, he grapples with the life lessons his father imparted, reflecting on love, identity, and personal growth from the backseat of the family car. I’ll Always Come Find You serves as the soundtrack to Blxst and Birdie’s introspective odyssey, exploring the complexities of relationships and self-discovery.

Blxst’s debut showcases his versatility, blending his signature LA-rooted R&B sound with a rich tapestry of genres and styles, including reggaeton and house beats. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, Blxst creates a dynamic auditory experience. The album features notable collaborations that advance the storyline: Offset energizes Birdie’s adventurous spirit in “Risk Taker,” Anderson .Paak offers a cautionary note in the groove-driven “Dance With The Devil,” Feid & Becky G deliver a cross-cultural vibe with “Rewind,” and Ty Dolla $ign provides a soulful conclusion with “I Need Your Love.”

I’ll Always Come Find You marks a significant milestone in Blxst’s career, blending storytelling with innovative soundscapes to deliver an album that resonates deeply with listeners.

In discussing the official music video for his latest release, Blxst reveals, “I see Ty Dolla $ign as my musical mentor. Hailing from LA, he was one of the few who took bold sonic risks, inspiring me to do the same. With a track like ‘I Need Your Love,’ which pushes boundaries and defies regional limits, I’ve ticked off one of my goals.”

Blxst recently showcased tracks from his debut album I’ll Always Come Find You at the inaugural Red Bull On The Record event in New York. Reflecting on his full-length debut, Blxst shares, “I’ve always admired concept albums like ‘Get Rich or Die Trying,’ ‘The Carter,’ and ‘Graduation,’ particularly those with a ‘hero’s journey’ narrative. With I’ll Always Come Find You, Birdie and I navigate similar experiences in different realms. It’s my way of sharing a personal story while maintaining some privacy. This album is universal; just hop in the backseat and join us on the ride.”

The car and driver motif pervades the project, with detailed artwork and visuals by Creative Director Amber Park, known for her work with Gunna, Sabrina Carpenter, and Kehlani. The album features sound bites of car doors slamming, engines revving, and faux radio DJs, adding to the immersive experience. The narrative is brought to life with actors like LaRoyce Hawkins of Chicago P.D. as Birdie’s father, Big E, and E-40 as the 95.5 40-Hour Radio host. Fatman Scoop makes a memorable appearance on “Too Many Friday Nights,” while Snoop Dogg introduces “dedication hour” on “To The Moon.”

While Birdie may take unexpected turns, Blxst maintains a steady course on I’ll Always Come Find You. Each sound bite is meticulously chosen, offering listeners a front-row experience of his multifaceted artistry. As the journey reaches its climax, Birdie discovers a new facet of himself. In the track “Ten Summers or Better,” Kamasi Washington’s lush orchestral arrangements signal hopeful horizons. Blxst notes, “We often focus so much on the end goal that we miss the beauty in the present. If you don’t appreciate what’s happening now, you’ll miss out on the moment.”

The album’s conceptual depth invites listeners to experience Birdie’s journey as if they’re riding along. To celebrate the album release, Blxst will lead a convoy of chauffeured cars across Los Angeles, culminating in a release party at Supervsn Studios on Slauson Ave.
