Available on Disney+ internationally and Hulu in the U.S., “Moving” has captured audiences with its all-star cast, riveting writing and unmissable action sequences
With an electrifying blend of international espionage, super-powered spies, and deadly assassins, the Korean drama and flagship series “Moving” have taken the global stage by storm. It has quickly emerged as the most-watched Korean original on Disney+ worldwide and on Hulu in the United States, based on hours streamed within the first week.
Since its debut on August 9, “Moving” has not only captivated viewers globally but has also claimed the title of the most-watched series on Disney+ across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This regional dominance includes countries such as Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia (including the Philippines), Hong Kong, and Taiwan, all measured by hours watched. Furthermore, it achieved the distinction of being Disney+’s biggest premiere in Korea to date, gauged by hours streamed within the initial week. “Moving” was launched globally on Disney+ across 65 markets and countries and concurrently on Hulu in the United States.
Carol Choi, Executive Vice President of Original Content Strategy at The Walt Disney Company APAC, expressed, “The global consumer response towards the first 11 episodes of Moving has exceeded our expectations. From the U.S. to all across APAC, it is fast becoming a breakout hit with its captivating storyline, world-class cast, and incredible post-production effects — all coming together to deliver exceptional storytelling.”
Boasting an ensemble cast featuring some of the Korean entertainment industry’s luminaries, including Ryu Seungryong, Han Hyojoo, and Zo Insung in his eagerly awaited return to a drama series, “Moving” delves into the tale of a cadre of South Korean spies. Their mission: safeguard their super-powered offspring from harm and exploitation orchestrated by nefarious government agencies. Initially recruited due to their extraordinary abilities, which encompassed flight, instant healing, and heightened senses, the spies mysteriously vanished after being tasked with increasingly dubious assignments. Now, with their own children displaying similar powers and a lethal assassin systematically eliminating super-powered individuals, the parents must forsake their tranquil lives and re-embrace the “monsters” they once were.
Critically acclaimed, “Moving” has been lauded as “proving the power of quality K-content” by KBS Media, hailed as “a gripping new K-drama action series” by Newsweek, described as “a superhero story with an emotional core” by Forbes, and characterized as “a completely different and new hero story” by Max Movie. The first 11 episodes of “Moving” are currently available for viewers to savor. Subsequently, two new episodes will be released each Wednesday, culminating in a three-part series finale scheduled for September 20.
“Moving” joins an ever-expanding library of Korean content now accessible on Disney+, including the Blue Dragon Series Award-winning “Big Bet,” featuring legendary actor Choi Minsik as a serial entrepreneur who repeatedly bends the law to fortify his burgeoning casino enterprise. Other notable additions include “The Zone: Survival Mission,” “Soundtrack #1,” and much more.
