April 12, Manila, Philippines — The country’s digital economy growth remains to be one of the fastest in ASEAN nations. The Alliance of Tech Innovators for the Nation(ATIN), aims to bring private institutions and the government to create an inclusive and an enabling environment for digital economic growth.

A collaborative effort between the Public Sector, Business Stakeholders, and MSMEs will help to create a digital ecosystem that drives development, long-term employment, and inclusive growth in the
country”, said Monchito Ibrahim, Lead Convenor of ATIN.
With 73 million active internet users by 2021, largely contributing to the country’s growth in e-commerce and the general digital economy. Additionally, ATIN with its mission to improve the lives of Filipinos by advocating for digital innovation, plans to further boost this growth.

Moreover, there’s a boost in Philippine based SMSEs, and ATIN wants to be a trusted resource. They aim to continue to cooperate to make digital platforms accessible for SMSEs.
ATIN’s Legislative Efforts
ATIN has continuously held consultative discussions with government officials from both executive and legislative branches of government. Furthermore, they have provided position papers to comment and suggest the inclusion of provisions on developing legislations. ATIN aims to boost the digital economy, and improve the welfare of everyone.
Lastly, the alliance’s legislative efforts includes the E-Governance Act, Internet Transactions Act, and Freelance Protection Act.
