Toyota welcomes two new athletes to its Toyota Asia Team in the race to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024

Today marks the launch of the next phase of Toyota Motor Corporation’s (Toyota) “Start Your Impossible” (SYI) global marketing campaign, sparking anticipation for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. This global initiative highlights the strength of local communities worldwide as they rally behind their athletes, underscoring Toyota’s belief in the power of collective journeys.

In Asia, Toyota has joined forces with 11 athletes hailing from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam for “START YOUR IMPOSSIBLE,” the company’s inaugural global corporate endeavor. These athletes are gearing up to represent their countries in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, advancing toward their athletic dreams. Joining over 200 Global Team Toyota Athletes (GTTA) from around the world, these 11 exceptional individuals will showcase their talents on the global stage in Paris.

The full line-up of 11 Team Toyota Asia athletes include:

  • India: Murali Sreeshankar, Athletics
  • Indonesia: Ni Nengah Widiasih, Para Powerlifting
  • Malaysia: Abdul Latif Romly, Long Jump – Para Athletics
  • Nepal: Nabita Shresta – Table Tennis
  • Pakistan: Arshad Nadeem – Athletics
  • Philippines: Carlos Yulo, Artistic Gymnastics
  • Philippines: Ernie Gawilan, Para Swimming
  • Singapore: Toh Wei Soong, Para Swimming
  • Thailand: Kunvalut Vitidsarn, Badminton
  • Thailand: Pongsakorn Paeyo, Wheelchair Racing – Para Athletics
  • Vietnam: Lę Văn Công, Para Powerlifting

Currently, 8 out of the 11 Team Toyota Asia athletes have secured spots for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, while others are still in the qualification process.
