Araw ng Kalayaan Resonates Differently for Sam ‘SV’ Verzosa

‘Dear SV’ Host Honors His Sampaloc Hometown With Outreach Activities

On the recent “Araw ng Kalayaan,” Sam “SV” Verzosa commemorated the day by honoring his roots through a series of community outreach initiatives in Sampaloc, where he grew up.

As the host of the public service program ‘Dear SV,’ Sam donated 17 brand new multi-purpose “Serbisyo Vans” to the 17 zones of Sampaloc. These vans will play a crucial role in emergency transportation and civic engagement activities.

Known for his philanthropic efforts even before holding a seat in Congress, SV also donated SV Mobile Clinics equipped with x-ray, ECG, ultrasound machines, and laboratory testing equipment. These mobile clinics will provide essential medical check-ups and consultations. During the event, SV personally showcased the mobile clinics and mobile pharmacy, demonstrating their capabilities to enhance healthcare delivery in Manila.

In addition to the “Free Maintenance Medicine Program” medical mission, Sam Verzosa distributed wheelchairs to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of fellow Manileños. Actress Rhian Ramos showed her support for the program by assisting in the distribution of medicines.

“Growing up, I realized we had limited means. That experience taught me humility and the importance of sharing, even when resources are scarce,” SV shared.

“I believe that hard work brings its own rewards. Our journey to improve our family’s life was challenging, but I persevered. Success isn’t just about meeting one’s needs and desires; it’s also about having the freedom to give back to the community and inspiring others to support important causes like these,” he added. “This Araw ng Kalayaan, I wanted to show the residents of Sampaloc that freedom to help is within all of us—not just financially, but through our time and participation in such projects. I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making this meaningful day possible.”

Asked what makes him a true son of Sampaloc, SV emphasized the values of camaraderie, humility, respect, and remembering one’s roots.

While Sam Verzosa has achieved much, he continues to pave a path for others with genuine intentions. His dedication to helping others stems from an inherent belief in the value of generosity and community support.
