City of Firsts marks Araw ng Kalayaan with music, fashion, food, and local finds

This June, Araneta City is hosting an extraordinary celebration for everyone to commemorate the 126th anniversary of our nation’s hard-fought independence from colonial rule. It promises to be an unforgettable experience brimming with patriotic pride, exhilarating festivities, and endless enjoyment!

Join Araneta City’s WE ARE JUAN celebration and immerse yourself in the richness and diversity of our nation’s culture. Indulge in the unique flavors, visual delights, and captivating music that showcase the uniqueness of our beloved country.

Here are some activities in store for you at the City of Firsts from today until June 12: 
 
– Musika ni Juan: Revel in our freedom with the vibrance of Pinoy music 
 
We Filipinos pride ourselves on our inherent musicality, so no Independence Day festivity will be complete without music. Come to Gateway Mall 2 on June 12 and listen to the beautiful music of SB19’s leader and main rapper Pablo this Independence Day. See him live and be electrified by his stage presence as he performs hit singles like “La Luna,” “Determinado,” and “Akala.”    
 
Additionally, visitors to Ali Mall on the same day can listen to a marching band breathing new life to a few beloved classics. 
  
– Obra ni Juan: Experience the art of Amorsolo in a new way 
 
Fernando Amorsolo’s lasting legacy as a visual artist can never be denied. With his skillful mastery of color and texture, he captured the beauty and complexity of rural Philippines in every masterpiece. From June 7 to 12, see these beautiful pieces of art–with a surprising twist–at Gateway Mall 1! Witness the brilliant and lifelike work of Amorsolo rendered in Lego cubes at the Amorsolo Lego Art Exhibit, conducted in partnership with Pinoy Lego User Group (LUG). 
 
– Produkto ni Juan: Enjoy the best Proudly Pinoy product and delicacies 
 
If you’re looking for unique artisanal products and treats, then look no further! From June 8 to 12, Proudly Original Products of Quezon City (POPQC) is coming to Ali Mall bearing a wide array of trinkets, accessories, and food items that are 100% Pinoy-made. Be sure to head on over and pay them a visit because there are definitely tons of fun surprises waiting to be discovered. 
 
– Disenyo ni Juan: Banner your Pinoy Pride through fashion 
 
The Philippines is woven into a tapestry of colorful traditions and culture. Celebrate the diverse beauty of the Philippines through a fashion show that showcases the best of Filipino haute couture.
