In line with its commitment to advancing sustainability, Araneta City has introduced electric vehicle (EV) charging stations within its shopping malls and office towers.
The City of Firsts unveiled its inaugural EV charging stations in February, situated at the basement parking areas of Cyberparks 1 and 2. Each station is equipped with Level 2 chargers featuring 5-meter Type 2 connector cables and a three-phase grid power supply, allowing for faster charging of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The deployment of EV charging stations is set to expand across other structures within Araneta City.
“Araneta City remains steadfast in its transition towards a sustainable and eco-conscious community by implementing green initiatives such as the installation of EV charging stations. This move reflects our commitment to ensuring the future resilience and adaptability of the City of Firsts,” remarked Antonio T. Mardo, Senior Vice President for Operations of Araneta City.
The integration of EV charging stations represents the latest stride in incorporating environmental sustainability into Araneta City’s infrastructure. Prior green initiatives within the City include the installation of solar panels at Cyberpark 1, integration of green building design elements in Cyberpark 2, adherence to LEED standards in Cyberpark 3, utilization of geothermal energy to power Ali Mall, and the introduction of Green & Go e-shuttles.
“Through these endeavors, the City of Firsts aligns with the ongoing efforts to mitigate carbon footprint and embrace eco-friendly lifestyle choices,” added Mardo.
