Manila, Philippines – Araneta City, Quezon City’s ultimate transport hub, is all set to receive passengers going to and coming from Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 3 and Light Rail Transit (LRT) 2 lines starting Monday, June 1, 2020.
The resumption of the railway systems coincides with the reopening of the three Araneta City malls – Ali Mall, Gateway Mall, and Farmers Plaza – on the first day of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila.
Heightened security and sanitation are prepared at entrances of Farmers Plaza and Gateway Mall adjacent to the MRT and LRT stations, respectively. Police officers and security personnel will be stationed in each of the entrances to assure that people coming in will observe the following:
- “no facial mask, no entry” policy; – minimum 1-meter distance between persons, 2-steps distance between persons in escalators, and limited elevator capacity; and – social distancing guides through signages and floor markings.
Temperature checks, disinfectant-soaked footbaths, and alcohol dispensers will be placed at the entrances. Those with 37. 6°C or above temperature will not be allowed entry, and will be asked to seek immediate medical care.
Starting June 1, the Araneta City malls will be open from 11am to 7pm.
“As we slowly go back to our usual daily routine, we continue to comply with the directives of the national and local government. This is to ensure that the City of Firsts will remain a safe place for everyone,” according to Mr. Antonio T. Mardo, Senior Vice President for Operations of Araneta City.
Araneta City is the only mixed-use development property in the metro that is conveniently connected between two railway systems, contributing to the close to 1 million foot traffic in the complex.
