City of Firsts holds learning session on digital marketing for tenants
In today’s digital era, where the internet plays a pivotal role in both personal and professional lives, understanding digital marketing tools and techniques is essential for entrepreneurs seeking to connect with the right audience. Recognizing this need, Araneta City hosted an insightful digital marketing seminar for its lessees on July 29.
The City of Firsts invited Rochefel Rivera, Chairperson of the Filipino Online Professional Service Cooperative (FOPSCo) and Head of Business Development at Professional VAs, to lead the discussion. Rivera shared valuable insights on various digital marketing tools that entrepreneurs can leverage to expand their online presence. From search engine optimization (SEO) to app-based marketing, she provided practical tips to help attendees stand out in the competitive digital landscape.
“Mastering digital marketing should be a priority for all entrepreneurs. It allows you to exponentially grow your audience with minimal effort and cost, especially when compared to traditional marketing methods,” Rivera emphasized.
She also encouraged attendees not to be discouraged by the learning curve associated with digital marketing. Acknowledging that venturing into this new landscape may present challenges, Rivera urged them to persevere, promising that the knowledge gained will be invaluable in navigating the ever-evolving digital sphere.
Rivera further highlighted the importance of understanding three key concepts: content creation, audience, and messaging.
“It’s crucial that we create content that resonates with our customers’ needs and demands. To do this effectively, we must know our audience—understand who they are, what they need, and their unique characteristics. Lastly, having a clear and compelling message is vital. When we align these elements, success in the digital space is within reach,” she explained.
Rivera also underscored the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital marketing. She noted that AI and generative AI programs will increasingly play a role in planning and executing marketing strategies, benefiting entrepreneurs who juggle multiple responsibilities. However, she cautioned that human oversight is still necessary. “It’s important to review the content produced by AI to ensure it meets the needs of our customers and provides them with value,” Rivera advised.
In closing, Rivera offered a key piece of advice for those new to digital marketing: “Amid the noise of misinformation and disinformation, it’s crucial to have a clear and consistent message that cuts through the clutter and resonates with your audience.”
Additionally, Madel Cervantes, Araneta City’s Senior Digital Marketing Manager, shared updates on the company’s loyalty mobile application, inviting lessees to participate in its rewards program.
“Our first-ever loyalty app was developed to foster a more engaged Araneta City community. It keeps users informed about our promos and events, facilitates transactions, and rewards customers with points for their activities within the City of Firsts. These points can be redeemed for exciting rewards from our partner brands. We’re creating a dynamic experience at Araneta City, and we want our lessees to be a part of it,” Cervantes said.
Held at Cinema 17 of Gateway Cineplex 18 at Gateway Mall 2, the seminar is part of a series aimed at equipping Araneta City lessees with the latest trends and techniques to enhance their businesses.
“As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the City of Firsts, this seminar is our gift to our partners and lessees. Our goal is to provide them with the knowledge and tools they need for successful campaigns and marketing activities. It’s also an excellent opportunity for us at Araneta City to connect with our lessees and strengthen our relationships,” added Marjorie Go, Araneta City’s Vice President for Marketing.
