AirAsia PH Issues Travel Advisory for Election Period

With the 2025 midterm elections approaching and the campaign period set to begin on February 11, AirAsia Philippines is urging travelers to follow election-related travel regulations for a smooth and hassle-free journey.

Plan Ahead for a Seamless Journey

To avoid delays, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights, considering the expected surge in travelers and additional security checks on key routes to the airport.

In line with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) directive, AirAsia reminds guests of the nationwide election gun ban. Those seeking exemptions must verify requirements on the official COMELEC website.

AirAsia Fast Pass: Enhancing Passenger Convenience

To help ease travel congestion, AirAsia Philippines is offering Fast Pass, providing passengers with a seamless airport experience through:

Dedicated Check-In Counters – Enjoy priority check-in and baggage drop-off at no extra cost.
14kg Carry-On Baggage Allowance – Bring up to 14kg of cabin baggage (1 piece up to 10kg or 2 pieces totaling 14kg within size limits).
Fast Lane Immigration Checks – Skip the crowds with priority access at select airports in Malaysia, Thailand, and India.
Priority Boarding – Be among the first to board with Zone 1 priority access.

Fast Pass is available for PHP 480 for domestic flights and PHP 900 for international flights. Guests can purchase it upon booking or as an add-on via ‘Manage My Booking’ up to 24 hours before departure.

Book Early for the Election and Summer Travel Peak

With the May 12, 2025, midterm elections coinciding with the summer travel rush, AirAsia strongly advises passengers to book flights early to secure preferred schedules and the best fares.

“We anticipate a significant increase in passenger traffic in the months leading to May, as travelers combine summer vacations with trips back to their provinces for the elections. To prevent any disruptions, we encourage early booking, especially for high-demand routes like Caticlan, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa, and Tagbilaran,” said AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan.

Reminder for International Travelers

AirAsia Philippines also reminds international passengers to complete the electronic travel (e-travel) form via the e-gov app before their flight for a smoother airport processing experience.

By planning ahead and taking advantage of Fast Pass, passengers can enjoy stress-free travel during this busy season. Book now and travel smart with AirAsia!
