AirAsia Emphasizes Overlooked Travel Essentials for a Smooth Customer Journey

Planning to travel in the second half of this year? Whether it’s a quick business trip or a long-awaited vacation, being well-prepared ensures a hassle-free travel experience.

With over 1 million travelers expected from now until December 2024, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for 15 years running offers tips on what to bring and what to leave behind for your next flight.

Essentials You Can’t Forget

Beyond your passport, boarding pass, and visa (for international trips), medical certificates and other health documents are crucial, especially if traveling with someone who is pregnant or has a medical condition. Remember, medical certificates are valid for only 10 days from issuance.

Airlines, including AirAsia, may refuse carriage to passengers whose documents do not comply with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements.

Your carry-on should include a small 7-kilogram bag that fits under the seat in front of you, containing in-flight entertainment and essentials such as electronics, gadgets, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.

No need to worry about in-flight food as Santan offers a wide variety of halal-certified rice meals, pasta, snacks, coffee, and other beverages to keep you satisfied.

What to Leave Behind

While packing, resist the temptation to bring along extras “just in case.” Items such as sharp objects, flammable materials, and large electronic devices like hoverboards are strictly prohibited in your carry-on.

If you need medical equipment on board, such as a portable oxygen concentrator or a battery-powered mobility device, ensure it meets the allowable limits. Inform AirAsia at least 48 hours before departure to arrange adequate special assistance.

For those traveling with friends, note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed in checked or hand-carry luggage unless purchased from duty-free shops, subject to varying airport regulations.

Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines Head of Communications & Public Affairs and First Officer, emphasizes the importance of preparedness and proactiveness: “At AirAsia, we believe that nothing beats adequate preparation. These simple tips, often overlooked, are essential for a smooth travel experience. While we aim to be part of your memorable journeys, safety rules must be strictly followed. When in doubt, always check the terms and conditions of carriage or use the AskBo feature on the AirAsia MOVE app.

For a smoother check-in process, guests can now self check-in 14 days before their scheduled departure via the AirAsia MOVE app. This feature is especially beneficial for business travelers and frequent flyers, optimizing their time and overall airport experience.
