ACMobility, a subsidiary of the Ayala Group, has unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. This new initiative reflects ACMobility’s transformation from a focus on automotive retail and distribution to becoming a comprehensive mobility platform offering infrastructure and digital solutions.
Leveraging the strengths of its parent company, ACMobility aims to address the challenges of EV ownership in the Philippines by creating a robust ecosystem that includes vehicles, infrastructure, and support services. “As we inaugurate the Ayala Malls Manila Bay EV Charging Hub, we are empowering Filipinos to move forward into a sustainable future,” stated Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility. He emphasized the company’s vision of establishing an EV ecosystem that provides convenience and value to Filipinos while supporting the nation’s sustainability goals.
The new EV charging hub is strategically located near the Almario Road parking entrance of Ayala Malls Manila Bay, adjacent to the NAIAX entry. This facility features three 22kW AC chargers compatible with Type 2 and GB/T ports and one 120kW DC fast charger using the CCS2 format, capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously. Overall, the hub can accommodate up to five vehicles at once, from private cars to buses.
To further support current and prospective EV owners, ACMobility has partnered with Evro, an e-Mobility Service Provider developed by 917Ventures. The Evro app assists users in locating charging stations, displaying charger availability and compatibility, monitoring charging sessions remotely, and facilitating cashless payments. Given that Evro is part of the Globe Group, under the Ayala umbrella, users can expect seamless integration with preferred cashless methods.
“Evro’s introduction is timely as we strive to provide a complete EV ecosystem for Filipinos,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility. “The launch of new charging hubs and the development of innovative infrastructure solutions underscore our commitment to delivering a seamless, user-friendly charging experience for both new and existing EV owners. We invite partners who share our vision of sustainable mobility to collaborate with us in making the EV lifestyle mainstream in the country.”
ACMobility continues to expand its EV ecosystem, currently boasting 70 charging points across 31 locations. “By July, we are proud to have visibility of over 100 charging locations nationwide. With plans to fully roll them out by the end of 2024,” added Zobel. “We are grateful for the unwavering support of our partners within Ayala and beyond. as we continue to redefine mobility standards in the Philippines.”
