Four child-friendly and child-sensitive shows from ABS-CBN and Knowledge Channel received top honors at the Anak TV Sinebata Video Competition, a national contest celebrating video content for, about, and by children and youth. This year’s theme was “Friendship in Diversity.”
Two shows from YeY Channel stood out: “Storyey: Ang Planetang Makulay” and “Game Play: Teamwork,” which were recognized in the Professional Fiction (8-12) and Professional Non-fiction (8-12) categories, respectively.
“Storyey: Ang Planetang Makulay” emphasizes the importance of respecting diversity and celebrating individuality, while “Game Play: Teamwork” follows Team YeY as they navigate clashing ideas during a hangout makeover, ultimately transforming their space into a vibrant reflection of their unique personalities—proving that true friendship can overcome any obstacle.
Another standout, “Hero City Kids Force: Hero Festival,” a children’s animated show featuring Darna, Captain Barbell, and Lastikman, won in the Professional Non-fiction Under 7 category. The story centers on the heroes who, despite their differences, must unite to fight villains sabotaging the Hero Festival.
Knowledge Channel’s “Kwentoons: Si Bino, Si Buboy, Si Bantay, Magkaibigang Tunay,” a tale about friendship that teaches kids how to properly care for animals, won in the Professional Fiction Category for children 7 years old and under.
These winning entries will be shared with Southeast Asian children at the Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children this November.
The winners were celebrated at an awarding ceremony on August 7 at The Peninsula Manila, organized by Anak TV, an advocacy organization dedicated to promoting television literacy and advocating for child-sensitive, family-friendly programming in the Philippines.
