As the new Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol was crowned last June 5, a charity gala night was held on June 1, a few days before the coronation, at Okada Manila’s Grand Ballroom in Parañaque City, the perfect venue for exquisite events such as the gala. The ballroom’s ambience complements the contestants’ beauty and elegance.
It was definitely a night to remember.
After the guests and judges filled up the grand ballroom, the event gave a good start with a full-course meal, consisting of a tasty beef steak as the main course. As everyone waited, Miss World’s Partner Companies were shown on the screen, including Bluewater Day Spa.
Bluewater Day Spa is known to be one of the country’s leading spa chains and a long-time supporter of Miss World Philippines. The contestants were invited the next day, and as they stepped into the Bluewater Day Spa in San Juan City, all worries melted away as they were welcomed by its President and CEO, Mary Simisim, who was ready to help get the ladies physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared to face their big day.
The event officially commenced with the speeches of important people present in the Gala. After that, the 36 contestants made an appearance through a Pasarela and a self-introduction. They were all wearing gorgeous white dresses that left the audience in awe.
After that, the talent portion began, where the Top 5 contestants (Albay, Iloilo, and Las Piñas, San Juan, and Negros Occidental) danced in different genres such as ballroom, folk, and ballet dancing, while some sang. Throughout the talent portion, the contestants’ grace and skillfulness were demonstrated to the audience. Last year’s winner in the talent portion, Michelle Arceo, also performed, singing Phantom of the Opera’s iconic song, “All I Ask of You”.
The event then proceeded to the Creative Wear Segment, where each contestant wore different costumes that reflected their hometown’s identity. The winners for this segment were Cassandra Chan of San Juan City, and Maria Gigante of Cebu. It was delightful seeing the range of representation the Philippines has, as it is a manifestation of how colorful our culture is.
Last year’s Miss Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas, Emanuelle Vera, also performed a theatrical song, “Never Enough” of the film The Greatest Showman, after the Creative Wear Segment. Ms. Arceo and Ms. Vera performing their respective songs show how talented the Filipinos are. They are definitely our pride.
In the Evening Gown portion, the 36 beauties flaunted their elegance through wearing the works of incredibly talented designers. The gowns all have a unique aspect that complements the contestants. Everyone’s eyes are on them as they walk on the stage with such grace.
The event ended with the announcement of the Top 10 Top Models for Miss World Philippines 2022. Namely, Manila’s Carla Manuel, Parañaque City’s Ingrid Santamaria, Makati City’s Ashley Montenegro, Albay’s Paula Ortega, San Juan City’s Cassandra Chan, Las Piñas City’s Alison Black, Negros Occidental’s Gwendolyne Fourniol, Bacoor Cavite’s Aliana Joaquin, Aklan’s Beatriz McLelland, and Zambales’s Patricia McGee. These girls ended the program with them standing center of the stage smiling and waving at everyone.
This event is a night to remember, not only because the contestants showcased empowerment for femininity and grace, but also as this event gave the spotlight to our Filipino designers who made high fashion gowns and costumes that represent our identity. It was a night of Philippine Beauty.
Let this event be an inspiration for young people who aspire to join pageantry, as well as those who aspire to be designers in the future. Let this be a reminder that Filipinos’ talent and culture are something to be proud of and shown to the world.
BEAUTIES AT BLUEWATER DAY SPA
Behind the glamour of being a beauty queen is a lot of hard work. That’s why BlueWater Day Spa, one of the country’s leading spa chains and a long-time supporter of Miss World Philippines, treated Ms. World Philippines 2022 candidates to a day of pampering and relaxation before their big event: the Miss World Philippines 2022 Coronation Night.
On June 1, during the Miss World Philippines 2022 Charity Gala Night at the Okada Manila, and just a few days away from the much-awaited announcement, Bluewater Day Spa executives met the candidates, along with select influencers. It was to be the beginning of a welcome break for the beauties, who were surely ready for some relaxation following weeks filled with practicing for the show, public appearances and endless photo shoots.
They were invited the very next day, and as they stepped into the Bluewater Day Spa in San Juan City, all worries melted away as they were welcomed by its President and CEO, Mary Simisim, who was ready to help get the ladies physically, mentally, and emotionally prepped to face their big day.
The beauty pageant contestants were given the choice of the spa’s most sought-after treatments. From dermatologically tested and safe Facial Treatments, Hand and Foot Treatments, Nail Treatments, Machine Treatments, Phototherapy Flash, and Scrubs, to relaxing massages such as the traditional Filipino Hilot, Swedish Massage, Traditional Balinese Massage and Forehand Massage.
The ladies were also given a tour of the spa’s Pearl facial room, where beauty-queen level treatments are offered, such as a rejuvenating Y-Lift Treatment with Mask; the anti-aging Essential Balancing Facial with Mask; the BioCollagen Facial; and the Revita Firm-Face with Mask, which focuses on giving an instant lift to the jaw and neckline.
And since the Miss World contestants need to be at their best from top to bottom, Bluewater Day Spa also has essential diamond peel treatments that target the elbow and the knees, as well as the non-invasive Revita Shape treatment for firmer, tighter skin on the arms, tummy, and legs.
Last but not the least, the Ms. World beauties were also given options for body scrubs like the Botanical and Rice Milk scrub, Green Tea scrub or Olive scrub, which will give them polished, glowing skin. These scrubs help remove dry skin cells and will make skin smoother.
Bluewater Day Spa has been associated with the country’s most beautiful women, including Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, who served as Bluewater Day Spa ambassador,
