The captivating documentary JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL, which chronicles the solo journey of Jung Kook from the iconic pop group BTS, has emerged as the highest-grossing music cinema event of 2024. During its limited theatrical run from September 18 to October 13, the film was screened in over 4,100 cinemas across approximately 120 countries and regions, grossing an impressive $15.7 million globally, with around 1.2 million admissions. The worldwide box office gross reflects data available at the time of this press release, and the film continues to be shown theatrically in Korea and Japan.

Directed by Junsoo Park, JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL provides an intimate look into the eight-month period following Jung Kook’s historic solo debut with the RIAA platinum-certified single “Seven (feat. Latto)” in July 2023. The documentary explores Jung Kook’s creative process, relentless work ethic, and the unique challenges he faces as a global pop star.

During its opening weekend, the film achieved remarkable success, ranking No. 1 in Brazil, No. 2 in Mexico and Chile, and No. 3 in Argentina, Colombia, and Peru. It also broke into the top ten in North America, Germany, Italy, and Malaysia, showcasing Jung Kook’s widespread appeal and the enduring popularity of BTS. In response to overwhelming global fan demand, Trafalgar Releasing and HYBE announced on October 11 the “PARTY EDITION” screenings, which feature the documentary along with an additional 20 minutes of singalong videos, turning the cinema experience into an ultimate fan celebration.

Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, expressed his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled with the continued success of JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL. Becoming the highest-grossing music cinema event of 2024 is a true testament to the artist’s lasting appeal and the unwavering enthusiasm and support from his fanbase.”
