Racers battle it out to claim the top spot in their own category
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) wrapped up an exhilarating second race weekend of its flagship motorsports event, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup), on September 28 at Clark International Speedway. The event showcased adrenaline-pumping action as racers from diverse backgrounds competed fiercely in both sprint and endurance races, delivering an unforgettable experience for spectators and motorsports enthusiasts.
During the opening ceremony, TMP President Masando Hashimoto expressed his excitement and passion for motorsports, particularly sharing his experience as a competitor in the Novice Class.
“I’m reminded of Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda’s rallying cry, ‘We Love Cars,’ and I can confidently say that motorsports is thriving in the Philippines. With your support and passion, it will only continue to grow,” he remarked.
Experienced racers from the Promotional, Sporting, and Super Sporting classes took to the track once again, competing fiercely for the top position in one of the races.
Throughout the day, racers tackled sunny conditions during the morning session, followed by overcast skies in the afternoon. The changing weather tested the drivers’ skill and bravery, resulting in thrilling, adrenaline-fueled action and intense, bumper-to-bumper racing for the fans.
Race Weekend 2 featured two sprint races along with an endurance race.
