Shanaia Gomez Stars in iWantTFC’s Latest Horror Original “The Gatekeeper”

New Gen Multimedia Star Shanaia Gomez is set to give viewers chills this Halloween season as she takes on the lead role in iWantTFC’s latest horror original, The Gatekeeper, streaming for free starting October 19 (Saturday).

Directed by the award-winning duo behind Quezon’s Game, Matthew and Dean Rosen, The Gatekeeper explores the terrifying mysteries of the real world, blending biblical elements with Filipino folklore. Shanaia plays Cita, an antiques dealer who stumbles upon a strange cabinet that serves as a portal to the underworld, positioning her as the gatekeeper between two haunting realms.

During the film’s “Unlock the Mystery” event, Shanaia shared her excitement about stepping into the horror genre, an unexpected but thrilling challenge in her rising career. “I never imagined myself doing horror, but when the opportunity came, I knew I had to give it my all. Making this film taught me so much, and I’m even more excited to explore other roles and genres,” she revealed.

Before her breakout role in The Gatekeeper, Shanaia first gained attention as a contestant on Idol Philippines and later as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10. She has since starred in several Kapamilya projects, including FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Can’t Buy Me Love, and He’s Into Her, and even appeared in the blockbuster film Rewind. Alongside her acting career, Shanaia is also making her mark in the music scene with her latest single, Cloud 9, released under Star Music.

The showrunners praised Shanaia’s compelling portrayal of Cita, with Matthew Rosen remarking, “Her performance is outstanding. She brings a special authenticity to the role that audiences will connect with.”

The Gatekeeper promises to deliver a gripping mix of mystery and horror, with the directors hinting at deeper, thought-provoking themes. “This film is as much about uncovering ancient truths as it is about scaring viewers. By the end, it answers questions that have lingered for centuries,” Dean Rosen added.

Catch The Gatekeeper for free on iWantTFC.com and the official app, starting October 19. The iWantTFC platform is accessible on various devices, including Chromecast and Airplay, for an enhanced viewing experience.
