David Young Inks Contract with Star Music

Rising star David Young is ready to make his mark in the music industry after signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN’s leading record label, Star Music, on Thursday (September 26).

The contract signing event took place at the ABS-CBN Music Lounge, attended by ABS-CBN Music operations and creative head Jonathan Manalo, Star Music junior label head Andie Arellano, and KreativDen manager Dido Camara.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the top music family in the country. When I first met Jonathan Manalo, I knew this was where I wanted to be. The warmth and support I’ve received from the artists and the team at ABS-CBN has been incredible, and I’m truly grateful,” David expressed.

At just 19 years old, the singer-songwriter is also gearing up for his debut album, which will feature a mix of OPM covers and original songs inspired by the timeless classics he loves.

“I wrote some songs for the album, drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Sinatra, Elvis, and The Beatles. I believe that classic sound is making a comeback, and I want to experiment with it to create something fresh and appealing to both younger and older audiences,” he shared.

David’s passion for music stems from his musically inclined mother and his exposure to a diverse array of global music.

“Since I was a kid, I would sing along to whatever was on the radio. My mom was a singer, and I would join her at some of her shows, surrounded by live music,” he recalled. “Watching talented local and international musicians perform inspired me to create that same level of connection with my audience through singing.”
