Shanaia Gomez Stars in iWantTFC’s Latest Horror Film “The Gatekeeper”

New Gen Multimedia star Shanaia Gomez is ready to bring chills this Halloween as she takes on the lead role in iWantTFC’s latest horror original, The Gatekeeper. The film, which will be available for streaming on-demand for free starting October 19 (Saturday), follows Shanaia’s character, Cita, an antiques dealer who stumbles upon a mysterious cabinet that serves as a portal to the underworld—thrusting her into a terrifying role as the gatekeeper between two worlds.

The Gatekeeper is directed by Matthew and Dean Rosen, the creative duo behind the award-winning historical biopic Quezon’s Game. This latest offering blends demonic folklore with biblical elements, bringing a uniquely Filipino horror story to life.

During the “Unlock the Mystery” event, Shanaia shared her surprise at landing a horror role, which wasn’t something she expected in her career. However, she embraced the challenge and expressed excitement for viewers to see the film.

“I never thought I’d be doing horror, but when this opportunity came, I gave it my all. I learned so much about myself in the process and can’t wait to explore more roles in different genres,” Shanaia revealed.

Before her breakthrough role in The Gatekeeper, Shanaia was known for her singing career, competing in the debut season of Idol Philippines and appearing as a celebrity housemate on Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10. She also starred in various Kapamilya series like FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Can’t Buy Me Love, and the iWantTFC original He’s Into Her, as well as the country’s highest-grossing film Rewind. In addition to acting, she recently released her single Cloud 9 under Star Music.

The filmmakers praised Shanaia’s performance in The Gatekeeper. “Her acting is exceptional. She brings something special to the character of Cita, making it both believable and relatable for the audience,” said Matthew Rosen.

As the film gears up for its October release, the directors shared their hopes for the audience to experience a journey of discovery and fear alongside the characters. “This movie combines biblical mysteries with Filipino history, offering thought-provoking revelations by the end,” Dean Rosen added.

The Gatekeeper will be available for streaming for free starting October 19 on iWantTFC.com and the iWantTFC app, available on iOS and Android. In the Philippines, viewers can enjoy iWantTFC’s content library for free, with additional access on Chromecast, Airplay, and other devices.
