Public Interest Registry Names AIDFI as Finalist for 2024 .ORG Impact Awards

One of 35 finalists selected from over 1,700 applications from around the world, AIDFI is eligible for donations between $10,000 to $50,000

Public Interest Registry (PIR), the organization behind the .ORG domain, has announced that AIDFI is a finalist for the 2024 .ORG Impact Awards. This prestigious global awards program recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to society through their mission-driven efforts.

Out of over 1,700 applications from nearly 90 countries, AIDFI was distinguished for its remarkable work in empowering rural communities through technological innovation, social enterprise, and community development. Their efforts have fostered sustainable growth and equity in underserved areas.

Auke Idzenga, Co-founder and CEO of AIDFI, expressed, “Being named a finalist in the .ORG Impact Awards highlights the significant impact of our holistic community development initiatives in remote upland areas.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 8 in Washington, D.C. Finalists from around the globe will be present at the event, each receiving a $2,500 USD donation. Additionally, AIDFI and other finalists will compete for larger donations ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 USD.

The 35 finalists represent the top five entries in each of the seven award categories:

  • Community Building
  • Quality Education for All
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Health and Healing
  • Hunger and Poverty
  • Rising Stars (leaders under 25 making a difference in their communities)

AIDFI is a finalist in the Community Building category for the 2024 .ORG Impact Awards. Winners across all categories, including the esteemed .ORG of the Year, will be announced during the awards ceremony on October 8. The .ORG of the Year recipient will be awarded a $50,000 USD donation, while winners in other categories will each receive $10,000 USD. In addition to these financial rewards, the recognition from the .ORG Impact Awards will enhance the visibility of the winning organizations, leading to increased donations, funding opportunities, talent acquisition, partnerships, and audience engagement.
