Limitless Potential: PFIP Pride Summit 2024 Redefines Inclusive Corporate Cultures

The Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) proudly held the 2024 PFIP Pride Summit, Asia’s premier workplace Pride conference, on July 30 to 31 at Shangri-La at The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Manila.

With the theme “Limitless: Inclusion Beyond Horizons,” the 7th Pride Summit highlighted the vital role of LGBTQIA+ inclusion within the business sector, emphasizing a collective vision for a truly safe and inclusive future that elevates LGBTQ+ talents to new heights of excellence. Industry leaders, allies, and advocates from corporate Pride networks and forward-thinking organizations gathered to discuss strategies for fostering inclusive corporate cultures.

Key Highlights of the Pride Summit

The summit delved into the relationship between economic impact and corporate diversity. The keynote address, “The Economic Case for LGBTQIA+ Inclusion in the Philippines,” demonstrated the financial advantages of inclusive practices, emphasizing how diversity fuels innovation and boosts profitability. The session “Building a Diverse Talent Pipeline Through Inclusive Hiring Practices” focused on addressing hiring biases to ensure diversity, while “A Balancing Act: Understanding and Overcoming the Complexities of Intersectionality,” sponsored by Accenture, offered insights on promoting intersectional programming to maintain focus on the unique experiences of different minority groups.

Attendees engage in one of the breakout sessions, “Building a Diverse Talent Pipeline Through Inclusive Hiring Practices,” exploring strategies to foster inclusion in the workplace.

Focusing on executive leadership and advocacy, the PFIP CEO RoundTable, along with keynotes by Dominic Arnall, Liz Jacobs, and Carl Cervantes, emphasized the economic advantages of LGBTQIA+ inclusion and the cultural importance of allyship in the Philippines. The Embassy of the Netherlands, a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, also urged companies to extend their commitment to equal rights beyond the confines of their boardrooms.

Delving into the significance of diversity, equity, and inclusion for a future-ready workforce, the session “Age Is Nothing But A Number: Best Practices for Engaging a Multigenerational Workforce” presented strategies for effectively integrating diverse age groups to enhance team dynamics. Meanwhile, “Leveling The Playing Field: Disability Inclusion in the Workplace” addressed the necessary mechanisms and investments to guarantee equal opportunities for talents with disabilities.
