The Sealion 6 DM-i, powered by BYD’s Super DM-i technology, offers a smooth and quiet drive thanks to its high-power electric motor paired with a range extender. BYD Super DM-i Technology: A Game Changer
The Sealion 6 DM-i rides on the advanced BYD Super DM-i platform, designed to deliver a powerful, smooth, quiet, and highly efficient electric driving experience compared to conventional HEVs. This innovative platform is a range-extended EV system allowing an impressive total driving distance of more than 1,000 kilometers, perfect for city commutes or long-distance travel while enjoying fuel savings.
Powered by a permanent synchronous magnet motor paired with an 18.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Ultra-Safe BYD Blade Battery, the Sealion 6 DM-i sends power to the front wheels via an E-CVT. The electric SUV produces 197 PS and 325 Nm of torque and can travel approximately 105 kilometers in Full EV mode without emissions. With the range extender, the total power output jumps to 217 PS while retaining the same torque figures.
The electric powertrain accelerates the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. In Extended-Range mode, the Sealion 6 DM-i’s total driving distance exceeds 1,000 kilometers, maximizing the EV’s capabilities.
Conquering 1,608 kilometers: Maximum Range, Maximum Efficiency
Range anxiety is a thing of the past with the Sealion 6 DM-i, demonstrating extreme long-distance driving capabilities. From July 20 to 22, 2024, two Sealion 6 DM-i compact SUVs embarked on the challenging Luzon Loop from Bonifacio Global City, covering a distance of 1,297.6 kilometers. After three days of travel, they still had battery power for 30 kilometers and a range extender distance of 247 kilometers left. The team drove to Subic Bay, reaching a total distance of 1,608 kilometers.
The entire drive, observed by the Automobile Association Philippines, ensured it was documented and conducted safely and legally.
Bold and Sleek Styling
The Sealion 6 DM-i impresses with its robust and stylish exterior. Measuring 4,775 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, it offers a premium presence and expansive interior space while maintaining a compact look.
BYD’s new Ocean X Face design gives the Sealion 6 DM-i a streamlined appearance. Its wide front grille, Glistening Combination Headlamps, Double U-shaped Suspension Headlights, and built-in crystal texture light belts give it a distinctive look. Additional features include 19-inch alloy wheels, a rear Ocean Starlight-inspired fascia with full-width tail lights, and sequential turn signals. The Sealion 6 DM-i also boasts a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, and roof rack.
Refined Comfort and Advanced BYD DiLink Technology
Inside, the Sealion 6 DM-i balances comfort and practicality with leather seats featuring 8-way driver and 4-way passenger power adjustability, heating, and ventilation. Acoustic window panels at the front isolate road noise, and rear privacy glass enhances comfort and security.
Advanced features include a 12.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker Infinity Luxury Sound System. BYD DiLink connectivity offers a voice assistant, 4G connectivity, and over-the-air software updates.
The Sealion 6 DM-i also provides dual 15W Wireless Chargers, keyless entry, NFC card access, USB Type-A and Type-C ports for the front and second row, and a 12-volt power socket. It supports the BYD App for remote vehicle control via mobile phones.
Equipped with a 1.7 kW portable charger and a free 7kW wall charger, the Sealion 6 DM-i ensures you stay charged wherever you travel. It can use public AC charging stations, with charging times of 2.6 to 3 hours from 0 to 100%. The portable charger takes around nine hours.
For added convenience, the electric compact SUV features vehicle-to-load capabilities, allowing it to power common household appliances or tools.
