Amidst the recent announcement by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) regarding lower fuel surcharges effective July, AirAsia MOVE advises travelers to plan their upcoming vacations and Christmas holidays in advance.
AirAsia MOVE, a comprehensive travel booking app, views the fuel reduction as an opportune moment for vacationers to achieve significant savings, particularly for group travelers or those planning multiple trips.
CAB is reducing the fuel surcharge from level 6 to level 5, resulting in savings of up to PHP 800 for international flights. For domestic travel, the surcharge will decrease from PHP 665 to PHP 542 at level 5.
Effective from July 1 to 31, 2024, this reduction presents a timely opportunity for holiday travelers to benefit from lower fares during peak seasons across AirAsia and over 700 other airlines available on the AirAsia MOVE app.

For those seeking budget-friendly getaways alongside reduced fares and discounts, AirAsia MOVE suggests booking domestic flights for travel in September to October, typically considered off-peak seasons. This timing ensures more economical flight options compared to busier months. Additionally, for travel within Asian countries, the latter half of the “Ber-months” is recommended due to generally favorable weather conditions.
AirAsia MOVE emphasizes that early booking is key to securing affordable flight deals, as prices tend to rise closer to travel dates. Early planning also allows ample time to organize accommodations, transportation, and activities for a smoother travel experience.
