‘Dilaw,’ a recently released hit by R&B singer-songwriter Maki, was celebrated at Maki Dilaw Fest, which took place on May 25, 2024, at Mckinley Whisky Park in Taguig.
During the interview, Maki shared the concept behind the song “DILAW”.
“There’s someone out there who’s really… who can offer unconditional love, a love that feels warm hindi siya iyong super intense na passionate na love like red like you know, kasi minsan ina-associate natin madalas for like Valentine’s na kulay red lahat. While for me, after realizing yung feeling of love – yung totoong feeling ng love dini-describe ko sya as yellow in this song” he said.
Moreover, Maki discussed his decision to cast Bini Maloi as the lead female in his music video.
“I could never imagine another girl playing the role of iyong dun sa “DILAW”, Si Maloi lang talaga”, he explained.
In addition, Maki became emotional as he thanked everyone who had supported him during his career and highlighted that his fan dom, the “Zushis,” had continued to attend the event in spite of the intense rain.
“Bago samin lahat ‘to so I’m really really glad kasi ito ‘yung nakasama kong team, kasi walang gumagalaw ng walang puso, lahat sila they always do everything with heart. Just like I do. And I am so glad kasi even though umuulan, even though things are not going according to plan, everyone is really supportive, everyone is pushing for it, Lahat sila nagstay, walang lumabas, walang umuwi”.
