Epson, a global technology leader, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education (DepEd) as part of the Adopt-A-School Program. This public-private partnership aims to bridge educational gaps by furnishing essential resources, equipment, and learning materials to public schools.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of technology in education, Epson Philippines has stepped forward to equip Oranbo Elementary School and Demetrio Tuazon Elementary School, selected by DepEd, with cutting-edge projectors, printers featuring Epson’s heat-free technology, and compact scanners.

Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines, emphasized, “We firmly believe in the transformative power of technology in education and are dedicated to providing sustainable, innovative solutions that enhance student learning.”

The MOA signing took place at Epson Philippines’ headquarters in Pasig, attended by key figures including Masako Kusama, Director Margarita Ballesteros of DepEd-Partnerships Service-Adopt a School Program Secretariat, and School Heads Shirley Alambra and Diosdado Manubag from Demetrio Tuazon Elementary School and Oranbo Elementary School respectively.

Expressing gratitude for the partnership, Manubag remarked, “Epson Philippines’ support will revolutionize our teaching methods and inspire our students to learn more effectively.”

Alambra added, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of quality education for Filipino children. We anticipate the positive impact of technology on our students’ learning experience.”

Both Epson and DepEd share the belief that integrating technology into classrooms empowers educators and students alike, providing access to resources and opportunities previously inaccessible.

Director Ballesteros emphasized, “As technology advances, ensuring students have access to the latest tools is imperative for their academic success. The integration of technology in education enhances engagement, improves learning outcomes, and prepares students for the modern workforce.”

This partnership isn’t Epson Philippines’ first foray into supporting education in the country. Previously, they collaborated with DepEd on the Epson’s Gift of Brightness program, providing underprivileged schools with printers, projectors, scanners, and other innovations.

Through these initiatives, Epson Philippines remains steadfast in its commitment to positively impacting society and nurturing the next generation.

Kusama concluded, “Our partnership with DepEd underscores our ongoing dedication to advancing education. We will continue to provide innovative solutions that enrich learning experiences and prepare students for the future.”
