Manila City Gears Up for the Second RAMPA MANILA – Following the resounding success of last year’s inaugural event, Manila City is thrilled to announce the return of RAMPA MANILA!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 19, 2024, as Bulwagang Antonio Villegas in Manila City Hall transforms into a dazzling runway for RAMPA MANILA 2.
Building upon the momentum of the first RAMPA MANILA, spearheaded by Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, this year’s edition promises an even more captivating experience. RAMPA MANILA 2 embraces the theme of Textile, Texture, and Technique, celebrating the artistry and innovation that go into Filipino fashion.
RAMPA MANILA 2 takes pride in showcasing the brilliance of established Filipino fashion icons. The night will feature the masterful creations of three highly-respected designers:
- Anthony Ramirez – From self-taught to self-made, his journey began with a curiosity for fashion and an innate creative flair. Throughout his 15 years in the industry, hours and hours in a seasoned designer’s workshop, soaking in the entire process has definitely paid off – the quality and accolades of his creations and his clientele of distinguished people are living proof of his artistry.
- Neric Beltran – Every Neric Beltran piece is detail-oriented, pioneering, and innovative. He has the ability and sophistication to come up with creations characterized by cutting-edge design, meticulous workmanship, and intricate embellishments painstakingly sewed by hand. This became a signature and the essence of his DNA.
- Mark Rancy – What started as a hobby in a car garage with one sewing machine in the suburbs of Manila in 2008, Marc Rancy found his eponymous label creating exquisite dresses for the sophisticated and sensual women. With nothing but passion, talent and sheer dedication, he slowly gained strong following with Manila’s elite and celebrities. Rancy took his design degree in Raffles Design Institute Manila, a subsidiary of Singapore’s Raffles Network and recently finished his dual-master of Fashion Management in Paris’ IESEG School of Management and Istituto Marangoni.
- Val Taguba – Val Taguba never fails to sell the drama. He is known for his breathtaking bridal looks from bold and unconventional colors such as black and red to traditional bridal whites and creams. His ballgown silhouettes evinces his penchant for texture, beading and lacework. Just like the impact of his creations for popular TV soap characters, Taguba’s creations are worthy of a grand entrance and a perfect fit for a bride who really wants to stand out and be memorable.
- Jhobes Estrella – Estrella is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. His impeccable designs are worn by famous celebrities, beauty queens and luminaries. From the traditional to the modern, Estrella has proven that his craft is undeniably timeless and ever evolving.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent
RAMPA MANILA 2 also shines a spotlight on the next generation of Filipino fashion designers. Dhenyze Guevara, Morissette Magalona, and Joanna Santos represent the fresh, innovative voices that are shaping the future of Philippine fashion. Their unique perspectives and creative visions promise to add a new dimension to the rich tapestry of Filipino fashion.
In a world where trends come and go, Filipino fashion remains timeless, rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving. RAMPA MANILA 2 is a testament to the enduring legacy of Filipino fashion and a showcase of the limitless potential that lies within the hearts and minds of Filipino designers.
