Pioneer Insurance has recently introduced its OFW Insurance through GCash, enhancing accessibility for 1.96 million Filipino migrant workers.
According to Lorenzo Chan Jr., Pioneer Group Head, this collaboration expands Pioneer’s outreach to fellow Filipinos globally by providing them with cost-effective, dependable insurance tailored to address their emergencies overseas. Offering Pioneer OFW Insurance reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring security and peace of mind for overseas Filipino workers and their families back home.
The comprehensive insurance coverage encompasses Natural and Accidental Death, Permanent Total Disablement with Disability, Repatriation of Mortal Remains, Medical Evacuation and Repatriation, and the allowance for a compassionate visit by one visitor.
Additional benefits include Repatriation due to unjust termination, Subsistence Allowance for legal matters abroad, and Money Claims if an OFW pursues a case against an employer with the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).
Before this partnership, Pioneer had established an online purchasing portal (www.ofwpioneer.ph) specifically for OFWs, facilitating access to insurance.
Chan emphasized the challenges faced by fellow Filipinos abroad in securing a better life for their families and highlighted Pioneer’s dedication as their reliable insurance partner.
Winsley Bangit, GCash VP and Group Head of New Businesses, highlighted how the collaboration with Pioneer Insurance simplifies the process for Filipinos to remain protected while working hard overseas for their families.
