The emotional ballad serves as the first offering off their three-part release
Ben&Ben poignantly captures the waves of loneliness that wash over when separated from a loved one for an extended period.
Their latest single, “Autumn,” released today under Sony Music Entertainment, sees the nine-member collective navigating the emotional complexities that hit close to home. The song delves into “the unintentional distance created between individuals due to life’s unexpected changes.”
According to the creators of the hit “Paninidigan Kita,” this introspective track was penned during their North American tour in Canada last year. Lead vocalist and guitarist Paolo Benjamin experienced a profound longing for his partner, struggling through the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
“Several months later, in early 2023, Miguel Benjamin completed the lyrics, adding a bridge about experiencing different seasons, which perfectly encapsulated the song’s message,” the folk-pop ensemble shared. “It encompasses themes of solitude, yearning, and an enduring hope for a new chapter.”
“Autumn” marks a new chapter for the band, exploring a different musical direction that unravels with each listen. Seamlessly blending acoustic richness with intricate textures and ethereal nuances, the emotional ballad is meticulously crafted to convey the ache of being distanced from a significant other.
In a collective statement, the award-winning band expressed, “‘Autumn’ reflects our growth and maturity as a band. Lyrically, it offers a more realistic and evolved perspective on the topic. In terms of arrangement and production, we’ve explored novel avenues to convey the emotions we aimed for.”
This track is part of a three-part release that Ben&Ben plans to unveil in the following weeks. Alongside “Autumn,” the revered Filipino act will release the full-band version of their new track “Courage” next week, followed by a special collaboration with another artist on December 8, 2023.
Ben&Ben’s “Autumn,” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
