As he divulged his aspirations, his physician father responded, “Kung saan ka masaya ti, suportahan ta ka [Wherever you find happiness, I’ll support you!].” This simple line resonated deeply in the 2000s.
Twenty-two years later, Christian Vasquez returns with a poignant real-life sequel to the iconic ad. Now a father of two, he faces similar circumstances with his eldest son, Jason, sharing his personal story in PLDT’s 95th anniversary video.
The video recounts Jason’s journey—a young man preparing for the engineering board exam while concurrently employed in an IT firm. It captures Jason’s stress during his exam prep and his hesitant confession to his father about his decision to forgo the exam for his IT career.
