Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a leading fiber broadband provider, has introduced its most budget-friendly postpaid plan, named BIDA Fiber, with the aim of catering to the mass market seeking fast and reliable internet while preferring monthly subscriptions over prepaid services. At an affordable price of just P888 per month, BIDA Fiber is positioned as the best-priced postpaid internet plan available today, targeting an estimated eight million Filipino households.
The official launch of this groundbreaking product took place on September 30, 2023, at Don Vicente Rama Memorial Elementary School in Brgy. Basak, San Nicolas, Cebu province, where BIDA Fiber has been receiving enthusiastic support from budget-conscious Cebuanos.
“We are excited to address a new market with our most affordable fiber postpaid plan, which we call BIDA Fiber. At the price of P888, a single household can enjoy unlimited data for a month, with speeds of up to 35 Mbps. We recognize that there are unmet needs in the market segment between those opting for our prepaid plan Surf2Sawa (S2S) and the standard postpaid FiberX plans,” said Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder.
With BIDA Fiber, Converge’s goal is to provide Filipinos with a dependable, high-speed, and cost-effective fiber internet solution. For just P888 per month, subscribers can connect up to six wifi-enabled devices simultaneously and enjoy unlimited access to web browsing, streaming, and mobile gaming.
Converge views the absence of data caps for BIDA Fiber as an advantage, especially for households where some members are engaged in online classes or remote work, while others partake in various online activities like gaming and video calls with overseas family members.
BIDA subscribers also gain complimentary access to BlastTV, a streaming television service provided as part of the “Watch Now, Pay Zero” initiative. BlastTV enhances the entertainment, lifestyle, and sports viewing experiences for all Converge subscribers.
BIDA Fiber is distributed through community retailer partners, similar to the S2S product, and has gained a strong presence in Central Luzon, being the most served region.
Throughout the remainder of the year, Converge plans to expand BIDA’s reach into metro cities such as Pasay, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Taguig, and others. The service will further extend its footprint in North and South Luzon, as well as in Visayas and Mindanao. Currently, BIDA is available in 588 cities and municipalities nationwide.
“Our pivot into the broad mass market segments, along with the prepaid product S2S, means our network is ready to accommodate the pent-up demand from this larger market. We have rolled out 6.1 million fiber ports to meet this demand,” noted Converge Chief Operations Officer Jesus C. Romero.
As of the second half of 2023, Converge boasts a total of 1.97 million subscribers. While the majority of the fiber internet provider’s residential subscribers still fall into the postpaid segment, the prepaid subscriber base is steadily expanding.
