The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, which serves as the marketing and promotions division of the Department of Tourism (DOT), was honored as the Best National Tourism Organization (NTO) at the 32nd TTG Travel Awards ceremony and gala dinner held in Bangkok, Thailand on September 28, 2023.
Upon accepting the award, Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TPB, expressed her gratitude to all members of the organization, as well as the various tourism stakeholders, partners, and organizations for their unwavering participation and support of TPB’s tourism projects and initiatives.
Nograles conveyed her appreciation, saying, “We accept this award with profound gratitude and pride on behalf of our organization and our beloved country, The Philippines. Your votes have bestowed honor upon us and reaffirmed our dedication to excellence. Your support is the bedrock of our mission to elevate the Philippines as a world-class destination for leisure, MICE, and investment.” She continued, “This award serves as motivation for us to work even harder to achieve our shared goals, ensuring that every traveler experiences the best of the Philippines.”
Seizing the opportunity to emphasize TPB’s top priorities, Nograles highlighted that the Philippines offers exceptional products and services to travelers from around the world. The agency’s commitment lies in expertly and authentically showcasing the beauty of the Philippines through its people, culture, natural resources, and destinations.
To date, TPB has actively organized, participated in, and supported numerous projects both nationally and globally, resulting in over Php3.9 billion in combined sales leads and Php654.7 million in media value for in-country promotions.
Nograles encouraged her fellow Filipinos to embrace their cultural heritage and locally crafted products, drawing inspiration from the nation’s rich heritage, exceptional creativity, and unparalleled resourcefulness.
Over the past decade, the Philippines has garnered several notable accolades from the esteemed award-giving body, including the Best Marketing & Relationship Effort in 2015. Last year, the country received the title of Best Destination of the Year for the second time, having previously won in 2014.
The TTG Travel Awards, an established annual awards ceremony celebrated for recognizing excellence in the travel industry across the Asia-Pacific region, attracts prominent figures in the industry who pioneer proactive steps and initiatives to enhance the tourism trade.
