Trend Micro Philippines is making a triumphant return with its annual cybersecurity conference, set for November 14, 2023. Continuing its commitment to bring together cybersecurity professionals and students from across the globe, and staying true to its motto, “Engineered To Do Good,” this year’s conference is themed “DECODE 2023: Resilience Rising.”
In an era marked by the ever-evolving digital threat landscape, fueled by new technologies, techniques, and tactics, it is imperative that cybersecurity leaders and practitioners remain equipped with the latest technology and best practices to bolster their resilience.
Alma Saturnino-Alvarez, Threat Hunting Director of Trend Micro, expressed the organization’s pride in establishing DECODE as a platform for cybersecurity professionals to stay informed and empowered. Given the constantly changing threat landscape, Trend Micro aims to arm both industry leaders and newcomers with the tools and training needed to safeguard their organizations effectively.
In its seventh year, DECODE 2023: Resilience Rising promises to be more expansive and comprehensive than ever before. Building upon last year’s theme, “Detect & Respond,” which focused on the processes of identifying and addressing cyber threats, this year’s conference will spotlight cyber risk management, data security, infrastructure, human capital, and operations. The objective is to enhance attendees’ cybersecurity posture significantly.
Participants can anticipate 24 distinct track sessions featuring Trend Micro Threat Researchers and Cyber Adversary Monitoring Researchers from around the world, covering topics like generative AI, automotive hacking, cloud vulnerability, data breaches, and discussions on complex cybercrime cases led by various local and global law enforcement agencies.
DECODE 2023 will also host keynote sessions with esteemed members of Trend Micro’s Forward-Looking Threat Research team, as well as panel discussions featuring representatives from the FBI, Interpol, and local industry leaders who will share their experiences and expertise.
In addition to track sessions and panel discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in various activities, including “Get IT Girl!” sessions and participate in intensive Hands-On-Lab training and a Capture the Flag Challenge. These activities aim to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap by enhancing participants’ investigative skills and response times while boosting their existing expertise.
This year’s conference marks a significant milestone, being the first to be held fully offline since the last face-to-face DECODE conference in 2019. This means attendees can expand their networks, forge connections, and interact with guest speakers and panelists in real-time.
