In a strong testament to their commitment to the visual well-being of Filipinos, Vision Express joyfully celebrated Sight Saving Month in August and introduced VEX Cares, a groundbreaking initiative with the potential to be a transformative force. VEX Cares aims to provide free eye health services to every Filipino, from infancy to their golden years.
Among the initiative’s notable beneficiaries is Ronnel David, a viral artist known for his exquisite paper flowers that have brought boundless joy to the streets of Mandaluyong City and gained popularity on social media platforms worldwide. Ronnel’s inspiring story deeply touched the hearts of millions of netizens, prompting one of them to connect with Vision Express.
Neelam Gopwani, the Managing Director of Vision Express, expressed their belief in the power of clear vision to enhance lives and foster creativity. Gopwani added that Ronnel’s story resonated with them, and through VEX Cares, Vision Express takes pride in contributing to his remarkable journey.
Ronnel’s life underwent a remarkable transformation when Vision Express reached out, providing him with a complimentary comprehensive eye examination, eyeglasses featuring personalized progressive lenses, and a newfound sense of vitality.
Vision Express remains dedicated to its mission of changing lives through improved vision, a commitment clearly demonstrated through the inauguration of “Vision for Education” as part of VEX Cares. This initiative entails a collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) to ensure that students nationwide have access to exceptional eye care services.
The campaign encompasses a range of initiatives promoting eye health awareness, including complimentary eye examinations and the distribution of eyeglasses, all aimed at empowering students to excel in their academic endeavors.
This dedication comes to life through Vision Express’ active involvement in several DepEd events, including the Palarong Pambansa 2023 in Marikina, where it offered its services to student athletes and coaches from NCR, Region 3, and Region 6. Vision Express also generously provided free products and services during the Brigada Eskwela 2023 Kickoff Event in Tarlac City. Moreover, it initiated a nationwide tour as part of its commitment, participating in the National Learning Camp at West Fairview National High School in Quezon City and Bacoor National High School in Cavite.
The VEX Cares program also includes extensive “Vision For Life” outreach initiatives, featuring collaborations with esteemed institutions like the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Insular Life, UnionBank of the Philippines, and Dasmarinas Village Association, among others. These partnerships are committed to offering free eye examinations and eyeglasses to various sectors of society, reinforcing VEX Cares’ comprehensive approach to eye care throughout every stage of life.
“Our commitment is to ensure that eye care is accessible to all segments of society. Through these valuable partnerships, we advance our mission of ‘Vision For Life’ and bring about transformative change across the nation,” emphasized Maureen Jean Miakka Lim, Head of Learning and Development at Vision Express.
In the coming months, VEX Cares will persist in its mission to provide free eye health services across the Philippine archipelago. Upcoming initiatives include events at Lyceum Northwestern University Dagupan, Iloilo National High School, and Davao National High School, among others.
Vision Express, through VEX Cares, continues to be a driving force in the field of eye care in the Philippines, reaffirming its dedication to preserving vision and improving the lives of all Filipinos. This initiative underscores the brand’s commitment to creating a brighter future for the nation.
