Renowned as the “God of Manga” for his exceptional storytelling, Osamu Tezuka’s seminal series gets a fresh adaptation, taking viewers on a thrilling extraterrestrial adventure alongside Romi and her partner George. They embark on a journey to escape Earth’s troubles and seek a new beginning on Eden17, a promising utopian-like planet. However, their dreams shatter as they arrive to find a desolate frontier incapable of sustaining human life. With limited options, Romi enters a malfunctioning hibernation pod, awakening 1,300 years later in a city built by her son Cain’s descendants. While treated like a queen by the inhabitants of Eden17, she feels profoundly isolated and resolves to return to Earth in search of solace among the stars.
Featuring the voice talents of Rie Miyazawa as Romi, Yosuke Kubozuka as George, Honoka Yoshida as Com, and Issey Oagata as Zudarban, a space merchant, “PHOENIX: EDEN17” is directed by Shojiro Nishimi, known for works like “Tekkonkinkreet” and “Mutafukaz,” and produced by STUDIO4℃.
