Imogen Cantong, a talented six-year-old member of “It’s Showtime’s” adorable kiddie panel, celebrates the joys of Filipino childhood in her highly anticipated debut single, “Da Da Da.”
The lively track takes inspiration from a melody Imogen used to sing when she was just two years old. Composed and produced by her parents, Rey Cantong and Kaye Cantong of Six Part Invention, the song nostalgically reflects on the delightful memories of a carefree childhood.
Imogen explained the meaning behind “Da Da Da,” stating, “I composed it for the babies who can’t speak yet. The song is like an invitation to join in the fun and enjoy the music.”
In addition to her role as a resident panel member on “It’s Showtime’s” “Isip Bata” segment and her participation as one of the featured singers in Jamie Rivera’s “3-in-1” song, Imogen is an enthusiastic performer with a passion for singing and dancing. Influenced by her parents’ musical career, she developed an interest in performing at a young age, often imitating music videos and observing her parents’ stage performances. Imogen’s confidence continues to grow through her participation in school programs, where she hones her skills as a performer.
Now, with great courage, Imogen takes a significant step towards realizing her dream as she releases her first single as a recording artist. She draws inspiration from a diverse range of local and international artists, including Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Sarah Geronimo, Blackpink, Ariana Grande, and her parents’ band, Six Part Invention.
