Globe and its subsidiary, Electronic Commerce Philippines Inc. (ECPAY), are teaming up with leading supermarket chain Puregold to introduce the Aling Puring app, which aims to uplift and digitize micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), particularly sari-sari stores.
The app, which was created in May of last year and is being powered and developed by ECPay, offers TNAP members a one-stop-shop for digital transactions such as cash-in, load, and bills payment. TNAP is Puregold’s loyalty and membership program for resellers.
By introducing the Aling Puring app, MSMEs can keep pace with the changing business landscape and thrive in a digital economy. The goal of the collaboration is to support the growth of the sector and offer additional income opportunities through digital services.
The launch of the app is part of Globe and Puregold’s continuous efforts to help MSMEs recover from the pandemic and be a partner in digitalization. As long-time partners in advocating for the digital empowerment of Filipinos, the two companies are contributing to nation-building through digitalization.
To date, the app is being rolled out in various Puregold branches across the country, and it was launched at the opening of Puregold’s Mango Cebu branch. Around 75 sari-sari store owners joined a salu-salo, or get-together, aimed at onboarding more stores onto the platform.
Overall, the digitalization of MSMEs has become more critical than ever to keep pace in a constantly evolving business world. Through the Aling Puring app, Puregold and Globe are supporting the growth of the sector and enabling MSMEs to thrive in a digital economy.
